Utensil Basket

You’ll love this sturdy basket (4” x 8”) to hold your favorite kitchen utensils. This basket begins with a solid wood bottom, woven over a plastic mold in a colorful twill pattern. Made from natural and dyed reed. Several color options are available. 

REGISTRATION FEE:  $50 ($45 for members) Includes admission to the Village. 

MATERIALS FEE:  In addition to the registration fee, a $10 materials fee (cash only) is payable directly to the instructor. (Materials fee in 2025 is lower than past years thanks to a generous materials donation to Hancock Shaker Village.) 

Instructor: Sandy Salada.  A basket maker since 1995, Sandy weaves a variety of baskets, including patterns of her own design, patterns by other teachers, and reproductions of cultural and historical baskets. Sandy teaches in her home studio as well as at Shaker Heritage Society in Watervliet, New York, and at Hancock Shaker Village.
