A dinner and mead pairingHeld at Honey’s, 93 Scott Ave, Brooklyn.

Deep in Brooklyn’s artisanal hinterlands, among the barrels at the city’s first meadery, Hancock Shaker Village is teaming up with Enlightenment Wines Meadery for a dinner of culinary revelry in Bushwick.  A dynamic collaboration between farm-to-table Hancock Shaker Village chef Brian Alberg and Honey’s Tara Norvell, the menu will pair organic Shaker vegetables and meats from the oldest working farm in the Berkshires with a variety of meads.

Enlightenment Wines in Bushwick (lauded from GQ  to The New Yorker) focuses on small batch meads made with wild yeast, foraged herbs, and locally sourced fruit.  Hancock Shaker Village in the Berkshires celebrates the architecture, history, farming, food, and culture of the Shakers, and the bold utopian vision that caused a woman in 1774 to emigrate to New York with a small band of followers to shake it up.

Come discover exotic herbs, surprising flavors, Shaker curiosities, and why The New York Times calls Hancock Shaker Village “a truly authentic experience.”
