Landscape Painting in Plein Air 

Saturday-Sunday, June 22-23, 10am-4pm (two-day workshop)

Registration:  $225/$200 (participants should consult materials list below for what to bring)

Join Casey Krawczyk for a 2-day landscape painting workshop. Learn to paint the landscape in an alla prima” approach through observation of the subtle nuances of color, temperature and form. Casey will guide students each step of the way through demonstration and individual instruction, helping the student develop a better understanding of design, color mixing/observation, form modeling, and applying finishing touches.

Participants are required to bring their own oil painting supplies, including brushes, paints, palette, canvas, and easel. See below for the complete list.

Materials List

  • Portable Easel
  • Panels (2 8x10s, 1 12x16 or 16x20)
  • Oil Paints:  Titanium White, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Red Medium, Cadmium Orange, Cadmium Yellow Light and/or Pale, Viridian, Windsor Green, Cerulean Blue, Ultramarine Blue.
  • Brushes: bristle and synthetic flats- bring a nice assortment including sizes #2 through #8. A few smaller-sized rounds.
  • Medium:  Odorless mineral spirits to keep brushes clean.
  • Palette knife
  • Paper towel roll or rags, and bags for rag disposal
  • Sunscreen
  • Bug Dope
  • Water & Snacks
  • Lunch (We will break from 1-2)
