Light painting photography is the art form that uses handheld lights to “paint” a scene while the shutter of the camera is left open during a long exposure. By shooting in a dark location and using the photographic technique of long exposure, flashes, streaks, colors, textures, and trails of light are created and captured without post-production work. Exposure times for light paintings can range from just a few seconds to an hour or more. Light painting: the art of capturing moving light, mixing painting with photography.
